The Kaunas Art High School (lit. Kauno dailės gimnazija ) is a state high school specializing in art ( sculpture , painting and graphics ) in Kaunas , the second largest city in Lithuania .

history

On February 4, 1946, the Kaunas Art School was founded on the basis of an ordinance by the head of the Department for Art Affairs. The painter Česlovas Kontrimas became the first director. In 1947 there was the first class of high school graduates. In the same year the school was renamed Kaunas Art Middle School. In 1969 the school was renamed Juozas Naujalis School. In 1994 it became a high school.
