Art district

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the German-speaking countries, the term art quarter refers to permanent studio and exhibition communities established by artists in large-volume buildings since the 1990s . Often orphaned historical factory buildings, schools and administration buildings are used for art production due to their simple technical equipment and the associated low costs. The art quarter is a (post) industrial, urban special form of the classic rural artist colony .
