history

FIFA time

Brazil won the first three editions of the FIFA -hosted Futsal World Cup ( 1989 , 1992 , 1996 ). It was not until the World Cup in Guatemala in 2000 that the Spanish team was able to defeat Brazil in the final. In 2004 they lost again to Spain, this time in the semi-finals. Four years later they won the World Cup again in Brazil, just as they did in Thailand in 2012 . In both finals they defeated the rival Spaniards. At the 2016 World Cup in Colombia , the Brazilian selection was surprisingly eliminated in the round of 16 as title favorites against Iran in a six-meter shootout. It is the worst result in a Futsal World Cup for Brazil so far.

The Brazilian Futsal selection presented at the Jogos da Lusofonia 2006 in Macau also a world record by making the national team from East Timor with 76: 0 defeated.
