Kurinka ( Ukrainian Курінька ; Russian Куренька Kurenka ) is a village in the northwest of the Ukrainian Poltava Oblast with about 180 inhabitants (2009).

The village with an area of ​​2.2 km² is located at an altitude of 99  m on the left bank of the Udaj , a 327 km long tributary of the Sula , 20 km southwest of the Chornuchy district center and about 190 km northwest of the Poltava oblast center . The regional road P-60 runs north of the village, four kilometers away .

Kurinka is the administrative center of the district council of the same name in the west of Chornuchy district , which also includes the villages of Netrativka ( Нетратівка , ) with about 100 inhabitants and Skybynzi ( Скибинці , ) with about 120 inhabitants.

Community school from 1912

In the village, first mentioned in writing in 1669, there is a community school built in 1912, which contains characteristic features of Ukrainian architectural modernism. The school building has large decorative cornices and ornaments, trapezoidal windows and doors and has a floor plan of 23.55 mx 31.50 m. The school is designed for 150 students who can be taught in three classrooms.

Kurinka was occupied by Wehrmacht troops from September 18, 1941 to September 18, 1943 .

In 1884 the village had 451 inhabitants. In 1990 there were 437 residents, in 2001 342 people lived in the village and in 2009 there were still 188 residents.
