Wassiljewka or Kurland was west of the city of Osjorsk ( Darkehmen , 1938–1945 Angerapp ) about four kilometers south of Novostrojewo (Trempen) on today's municipal road 27K-161, which leads to Saosjornoje ( Kowarren , 1938–1945 Kleinfriedeck ) on regional road 27A- 027 (ex R 508 ) leads. History

The manor village formerly known as "Curland" had only 59 inhabitants in 1818, but was able to increase their number to 96 by 1863. On May 6, 1874, Curland was one of the ten municipalities that formed the newly established district of Ernstburg. Until 1945 he belonged to the Darkehmen district (1938 Angerapp district , 1939–1945 Angerapp district ) in the Gumbinnen administrative district of the Prussian province of East Prussia .

On September 30, 1928 Kurland gave up its independence and merged with Ernstburg and Ernstburger Wald to form the new rural community Ernstburg (Russian: Sady).

In 1945 the village with northern East Prussia came to the Soviet Union and in 1950 was given the new name Wassiljewka . At the same time the place was classified in the village Soviet Novostrojewski selski Sowet (okrug) . In the local directory of Kaliningrad Oblast from 1976 the place was still listed as existing, on maps from the 1980s it is no longer recorded.

With its predominantly Protestant population, Kurland was part of the parish of Trempen before 1945 . It belonged to the church district Darkehmen (1938–1945 Angerapp ) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .
