Kurt Schwitters Prize

The Kurt Schwitters Prize is a prize sponsored by the Niedersächsische Sparkassenstiftung to promote the fine arts of all kinds, which is usually awarded to international artists every two years and is endowed with 25,000 euros.

history

On October 1, 1982, the award was originally launched by the Lower Saxony state capital Hanover . According to the award commission, the award is intended for artists “whose work makes an important contribution to contemporary art and is related to Kurt Schwitters (1887–1948).” The award is not advertised, the winners are determined by a jury.
