Kurt Baehr

Kurt Baehr (born July 1, 1916 in Frankfurt (Oder) , † February 10, 1984 in Munich ) was a German trade unionist .

After elementary school, Baehr was trained as a businessman in his parents' company and in Liegnitz . He took part in World War II and was a prisoner of war from 1945 to 1947. After his release, he worked as a farm worker and commercial clerk in Munich.

From 1951 he worked full-time in the horticulture, agriculture and forestry union, where he was union secretary and district manager for Upper Bavaria . From 1961 to 1979 he was their state chairman and member of the main committee at the federal level. He was also a member of the regional board of the DGB and was chairman of the vocational training committee at the State Ministry of Agriculture . He also worked as a judge at the State Labor Court and the State Social Court. From January 1, 1968 to December 31, 1979 he was a member of the Bavarian Senate .
