Kurt Dieman-Dichtl
Kurt Dieman-Dichtl (born July 9, 1923 in Vienna ; † May 19, 2009 ) was an Austrian opera and Viennese song singer , director and author .
Life
Kurt Dieman-Dichtl, also known as Kurt Dichtl-Jörgenreuth , studied music and is the author of 26 books. Most recently he lived in Bad Vöslau . He was married to Ruth von Mayenburg .
In many of his works he presented Baden as a city of culture. Dieman-Dichtl has repeatedly attracted attention with his controversial, provocative statements that sometimes border on polemics . His dispute with Andreas Mölzer about the dichotomy “Austrian nation” - “Austrian state”, as well as various articles in the ultra-Catholic magazine “Der Dreizehnte” attracted particular journalistic attention . Dieman-Dichtl occasionally wrote columns for the Austrian Kronen Zeitung .
Dieman-Dichtl's extensive archive is kept in Eichbüchl Castle near Katzelsdorf (Wiener Neustadt district).
Prizes and awards
- 1995: Culture Prize of the City of Baden for media cultural merits.
- 1996: Commander with the Star of the Order of the Holy Pope New Year's Eve
- President of the " Theodor Cardinal Innitzer Society ".
