Kurt Eckstein
Kurt Eckstein (born March 12, 1947 in Hegnenberg near Altdorf ) is a German politician . From 1990 to 2013 he was a member of the CSU in the Bavarian state parliament . As a representative of the state parliament, he was a long-time member of the Broadcasting Council of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation .
Life
Eckstein attended an agricultural college after primary school and vocational school. After an internship on a farm in Lower Franconia, he took over his parents' farm in 1972. In 1973 he passed the agricultural master's examination. At the same time, as a part-time vocational school teacher, he supervised agricultural economics students for several years during their basic vocational training year.
Political career
Eckstein began his political engagement as a youth. From the age of 16 he was active in youth work in the Bavarian Young Farmers ' Union , in the District Youth Association and in the Young Union . In 1972 he took over a political mandate in the local council of his home town for the first time. After the incorporation, he was a member of the city council of Altdorf near Nuremberg from 1978 . From 1986 to 1990 he was also a member of the district assembly of Middle Franconia . Finally, he moved in the state election on October 14, 1990 as a direct candidate in the constituency of Nuremberg Land ( constituency of Middle Franconia ) in the Bavarian state parliament. He defended his constituency in the elections in 1994, 1998, 2003 and 2008. In 2013 he retired from active state politics for reasons of age. His successor as the directly elected member of the constituency is Norbert Dünkel (CSU).
In the state parliament, Eckstein was initially concerned with questions of agriculture and state development. Since 1994 he has been a member of the State Budget and Financial Affairs Committee. He was also the auditor of the CSU parliamentary group.
