Kurt FK Franke

Kurt FK Franke (born February 27, 1929 in Braunschweig ; † June 8, 2005 in Berlin ) was a German history teacher .

Life

After graduating from high school , Franke completed an apprenticeship as a banker . He then studied history, German, pedagogy (for elementary and secondary schools) and political science at the Braunschweig University of Education and the Georg-August University in Göttingen . From 1974 he worked as a teacher or rector in elementary and secondary schools. In 1975 he became a professor at the University of Education in Berlin . In 1980 he was in Braunschweig with a thesis on The county Braunschweig, local self-government in a democratic state, studies on political, economic, social and cultural structure from 1945 to 1974 for Dr. phil. PhD. From 1990 to 1995 he was visiting professor at the Humboldt University of Berlin and the University of Potsdam and coordinator of the political education course in the state of Brandenburg . Afterwards he was a lecturer for history didactics at the Central Institute for Subject Didactics at the Free University of Berlin . In addition, from 1980 to 1994 he was chairman of the German Association for Civic Education in Berlin and from 2000 to 2003 deputy chairman of the German-Israeli Society (working group Berlin and Potsdam). Franke was married.
