Kurt Rose (born September 1, 1908 in Bernburg an der Saale , † 1999 in Celle ) was a teacher and author .
life and work
Kurt Rose studied modern philology in Vienna and Berlin , dropped out and worked as a teacher in Turkey , Spain and Finland , where he a. a. translated the Finnish epic Kalevala into German. In 1938 he returned to Germany and worked for the publishers Schaffstein Verlag and Wolfgang Krüger Verlag and as a freelance writer. In 1940 Rose was drafted into the Wehrmacht. Further stations were the Navy and the defense under Admiral Canaris , most recently at the High Command of the Navy. After 1945 he worked as an interpreter and in the municipal administration of Bordesholm . In 1948 he passed the exam to become a secondary school teacher and then worked at various schools a. a. in Bordesholm, Iserlohn and finally Euskirchen until 1973 . Rose is the lyricist of many new sacred songs , e. B. the birthday canon " That earth and sky bloom for you " ( RG 734, music by Herbert Beuerle). He is also the author of non-fiction and specialist books, anthologies and plays. He was a member of the ecumenical lyricists and composers group of the Werkgemeinschaft Musik eV and the AG Musik in der Ev. Jugend eV, today the lyricists and composers group TAKT .
