Kurt Louis Wilhelm Schustehrus (born March 25, 1856 in the Bärholz manor near Thierenberg in Samland , † February 27, 1913 in Berlin ) was a German local politician, a member of the Prussian manor , the provincial parish and committee of the Brandenburg province. From 1900 to 1913 he was Lord Mayor of Charlottenburg . The Schustehruspark in Berlin is named after him. The adjacent Schustehrusstrasse has been named after him since 1950.

Life

Schustehrus attended the old town high school in Königsberg (Prussia) , then studied law at the Albertina there and in Leipzig, and in 1874 became a member of the Germania Königsberg fraternity .

After completing his studies, he began a legal career in Thorn and became the city's second mayor in 1889 . In 1892 he became the first mayor of Nordhausen . In this capacity he initiated the construction of the Harzquerbahn and the Harz dam .

On September 14, 1898, he was elected First Mayor of Charlottenburg, and on February 1, 1899, he was introduced to his office. On January 27, 1900, he was awarded the title of Lord Mayor by the highest cabinet order. He held the office until January 31, 1913. Kurt Schustehrus lived at Augsburger Straße 62 at the turn of the century and from 1910 to 1913 at Kurfürstendamm 57.
