Kurt Volk
Kurt Volk (born September 19, 1919 in Basel ; † July 26, 1993 ibid) was a Swiss painter and glass painter .
Life
Kurt Volk was born the youngest of seven children. His mother, Christina Volk-Bizer, was a master cook in a mansion in the Gellert district. The father Gotthold Volk was stable master of a manor house in the same quarter.
Volk completed his initial training as a flat painter in Basel. He received his second training with a four-year Basel art scholarship at the Basel School of Applied Arts from Arnold Fiechter , Theo Eble and Walter Bodmer . He spent practical years of apprenticeship in glass painting with Charles Hindenlang , Basel.
His works have been shown in solo and group exhibitions. Volk was the winner of various competitions for the Basler Kunstkredit. He died in Basel in 1993.
