Kurt Wolf (doctor)

Kurt Albrecht Wolf (born February 1, 1865 in Dresden , † August 13, 1947 in Baden-Baden ) was a German hygienist and director of the hygiene institute at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen .

Life

After graduating from the Kreuzgymnasium in Dresden in 1885, Kurt Albrecht Wolf studied medicine at the universities of Leipzig and Freiburg im Breisgau.

In 1890 he was at the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg to Dr. med. PhD . Wolf volunteered at the Dresden-Friedrichstadt City Hospital and the Berlin University Women's Clinic, worked at the Pathological Institute of the Friedrichstadt Clinic from 1891 and began working at the Central Office for Public Health Care in Dresden in 1894. In 1896 he became an assistant at the Hygiene Institute of the Technical University of Dresden , where he completed his habilitation in 1897 with his work on the formation of dyes in the fluorescent bacteria of the Dresden Elbe and tap water , and in 1902 he was appointed associate professor for bacteriology and hygiene. On April 1, 1906, he was appointed full professor and director of the Hygiene Institute at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen, and 27 years later, on October 1, 1933, he retired.

During the First World War , Kurt Wolf served in the army from 1914 to 1918 and was dismissed as senior physician general .

Kurt Wolf was born on August 9, 1909 under matriculation no. 3298 accepted as a member of the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina .
