Kurt von Barisiani (also Kurt von Barisani ) (born October 17, 1895 in Vienna ; † November 17, 1970 in Munich ) was an Austrian - German politician ( NSDAP ) and SA leader.

Live and act

After attending elementary school and secondary school, which he completed with the Matura, Barisiani took part in the First World War as a war volunteer from 1914 . In the war, in which he fought on the Russian and Italian fronts, he was promoted to lieutenant in the reserve, wounded twice and awarded several awards.

After his demobilization in autumn 1918, the trained chemist took on a position as a private civil servant and managing director of a chemical-pharmaceutical company in Vienna. Politically, he was involved in the Austrian Nazi movement since 1923 . From that year Barisani was also a member of the SA. By the beginning of the 1930s he rose to the higher management level in this organization. In his function as SA leader he was also involved in politically motivated attacks. After the attack on the famous Gerngross department store in Vienna on December 18, 1932, in which the National Socialists caused a mass panic among buyers with stink bombs and tear gas , a considerable amount of explosives was found at Barisani. As a result, he spent the period from late 1932 to February 1933 in custody, but ultimately had to be released again for lack of evidence. After he was involved in bomb attacks in Vienna in June 1933 - he was probably the supplier of the explosives used - he fled to the German Reich after the NSDAP was banned in Austria.

Here Barisani, who was promoted to brigade leader in the Austrian Legion on July 1, 1933 , worked on the staff of SA Upper Group VIII (Austria) and was part of Hermann Reschny's close command staff . In March 1938, shortly after the annexation of Austria to the German Reich , von Barisani took over the office of brigade leader in the National Socialist Motorist Corps (NSKK): In this he was initially entrusted with the management of the Ostmark motor group. He then commanded the Thuringia Motor Group from 1939 to 1942. In 1939 Barisani had also held the rank of captain in the Wehrmacht , where he had commanded an assault gun division. In the last years of the war, von Barisani worked for the Reich Minister for Armaments and Ammunition .

Also in March 1938, von Barisani had become a member of the National Socialist Reichstag , to which he was a member until the end of Nazi rule in May 1945. He was also the holder of the badge of honor (No. 51.746). After the war ended, he moved to Lofer near Salzburg in July 1946 and died in Munich in 1970.
