Kyle Carter (born January 8, 1969 in Calgary , Alberta ) is a Canadian eventing rider who lives in Ocala , Florida , USA .

Life

He grew up as the son of a horse-racing family on a farm in the Canadian city of Calgary . At first he was interested in show jumping, which he trained on Spruce Meadows . Over time, he began to be interested in the eventing sport, which he finally decided at 18.

From 1988 to 1989 he lived in England and trained with Leslie Law .

In 1995 he met the eventing rider Jennifer, whom he married in July 1997. Shortly after the wedding, the couple bought a farm in Florida. The couple have two daughters (Riley & Trista).

At the Pan-American Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2007 , he finished fifth in the individual and won the silver medal with the team. In 2008 he started at the Olympic Games in Beijing . At the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Kentucky , he won the silver medal with the team in the saddle of Madison Park .
