László Blazovich

László Blazovich (born November 2, 1943 in Szombathely , Hungary ) is a Hungarian historian.

Life

Blazovich studied history, Hungarian language and literature and became a teacher at the Gábor Bethlen grammar school in Hódmezővásárhely , Hungary. From 1980 to 2009 he was the archive director of the Csongrád County Archives .

In 1968 he received his doctorate and in 1995 he completed his habilitation at the University of Szeged . From 1989 to 1997 he was a lecturer at the Law Faculty of the University of Szeged. Since 1997 he has been a professor at the Legal History Department at the University of Szeged. In 2003 he became a doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences . His areas of expertise in legal history are urban and settlement history, archival science , Sachsenspiegel and Magdeburg law .

In 2010 he received honorary citizenship of the city of Szeged . In 2010 he was awarded the Eike von Repgow Prize by the City of Magdeburg and the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg .
