The LA84 Foundation / John C. Argue Swim Stadium (formerly Los Angeles Swimming Stadium ) is a swimming pool in Exposition Park from Los Angeles .
history
The swimming stadium was built for the 1932 Summer Olympics and had a capacity of 10,000 seats. Half of these seats were part of a temporary wooden grandstand, which was dismantled after the games. The grandstands were up to 4.60 meters high and 78 meters wide. The pool measured 50 meters in length and 20 meters in width. During the games, competitions in swimming , diving , water polo and swimming in modern pentathlon took place here.
The bathroom was renovated in 2002 and 2003 and later renamed in honor of the LA84 Foundation and John Argue . Argue was a Los Angeles lawyer who brought the Summer Olympics back to Los Angeles in 1984 as a key board member.
