Liam Cacatian Thomassen (* 10. September 1997 in Gothenburg ), also known as LIAMOO , is a Swedish singer . He won the twelfth season of the singing talent show Idol in December 2016 .

life and career

Cacatian Thomassen was born in Gothenburg in September 1997 in the province of Västra Götalands län .

In 2016, Cacatian Thomassen applied for the twelfth season of the singing casting show Idol , the Swedish version of Germany is looking for the superstar . He reached the final on December 9, 2016. There he competed against Rebecka Karlsson and won the show. His first single was Playing with Fire , composed by Rasmus Hedegaard, Alexander Tidebrink , Calle Lehmann and Vigiland. This was released on December 10, 2010. The single reached number six in the Swedish charts.

Cacatian Thomassen took part in the Swedish preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest , the Melodifestivalen 2018 . With his song Last Breath he prevailed against his competition in the second semi-final on February 10, 2018 in Gothenburg and qualified directly for the final on March 10 in the Friends Arena in Stockholm . Here he finally reached sixth place.

A year later he announced that he would again take part in the Melodifestivalen , this time in a duet with Hanna Ferm , who was also a former Idol participant. With the song Hold You in the second semi-final in Malmö, they qualified for the final on March 9th in Stockholm. There they reached third place with 107 points behind John Lundvik and Bishara .
