The 2008/09 season was the 13th regular season of the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey (until 2003 Ligue de hockey semi-professionnelle de Québec; until 2004 Ligue de hockey senior majeur du Québec). The nine teams should complete 44 games each in the regular season , but the game plan had to be changed due to the early, financially-related, departure of the Poutrelles Delta de Sainte-Marie . The team with the highest points in the regular season were Lois Jeans de Pont-Rouge , who also won the Coupe Futura for the first time in the play-offs .
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Mission de Sorel-Tracy stopped the game.
- The CIMT de Rivière-du-Loup were added to the league as an expansion team.
- The Poutrelles Delta de Sainte-Marie were added to the league as an expansion team and stopped playing again during the season.
- The Radio X de Québec were relocated to Pont-Rouge , Québec , and changed their name to Lois Jeans de Pont-Rouge .
- The Summum-Chiefs de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu were relocated to Saguenay , Québec , and changed their name to 98.3 FM de Saguenay .
- The Top Design de Saint-Hyacinthe changed their name to Chiefs de Saint-Hyacinthe.
