The 1997/98 season was the second regular season of the Ligue de hockey semi-professionnelle du Québec (LHSPQ). The 14 teams completed 38 games each in the regular season . The team with the highest points in the regular season were the Grand Portneuf de Pont-Rouge , while the Rapides de Lachute won the Coupe Futura for the first time in the play-offs .
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Jets de Louiseville ceased operations.
- The Aztèques d'Asbestos were added to the league as an expansion team.
- The Condors de Jonquière were added to the league as an expansion team.
- The Voyageurs de Vanier were relocated to Quebec City and changed their name to As de Québec .
- The Gladiateurs de ville des Laurentides were relocated to Saint-Thérèse , Québec , and changed their name to Chiefs de Sainte-Thérèse .
- The 94 de Waterloo were relocated to Granby , Québec , and changed their name to Blitz de Granby .
- The Dragons du Haut-Richelieu changed their name to Dragons d'Iberville.
