Laëtitia Philippe
Laëtitia Philippe (born April 30, 1991 in Chambéry ) is a French football player .
Club career
Laëtitia Philippe played as a girl and youth at FC Vimines , Sporting Cognin and from 2001 to 2007 at FCS Rumilly Albanais in her Savoyard homeland. Then HSC Montpellier brought her into its women's team. The goalkeeper made her first appearances in Montpellier's first division as a 16-year-old , but she was only used in point and cup matches since the 2009/10 season, alternating with Celine Deville , the club's No. 1. By the summer of 2011, Philippe had only played 27 league games. With the national cup competition in 2009 she won her first title there; as with Montpellier's finals in 2010 and 2011, she was only on the bench. Since Deville's departure at the beginning of the 2011/12 season, she has been the undisputed number one in Montpellier, apart from the fact that she was absent for more than half of the season in 2012/13 due to an injury and for the same reason at the turn of the year 2014/2015 failed again.
After she was only second choice behind Méline Gérard at Montpellier in the 2017/18 season , she joined the first division women of AF Rodez in 2018 and, after their relegation twelve months later, those of FC Fleury .
As a national player
Laëtitia Philippe has played almost 50 games in France's vintage youth teams and was the regular goalie in three major international competitions: the U-17 World Cup in 2008 , the U-19 European Championship in 2009 (where the French reached the semi-finals) and the U-20 World Cup 2010 . In the 2011/12 season she is also part of France's student national team.
She played her first international match in a 2-0 win in Serbia in November 2009, a World Cup qualifier . Nevertheless, national coach Bruno Bini appointed Laëtitia Philippe to the French squad for the 2011 World Cup in Germany , preferring her to Sarah Bouhaddi , goalkeeper of Champions League winner Olympique Lyon . It saw its consideration as an “opportunity to learn and gain experience” and was not used there. Several other female soccer players from the "1991 vintage" ( Catala , Crammer , Gadéa , Makanza ) have also made it into the A squad after the World Cup finals. Meanwhile, Philippe has made four appearances at the Bleues (as of October 23, 2015). She was part of the French Olympic squad in 2012 , if only as a “successor”. However, her injury from the second half of 2012 threw her back on the national team; Karima Benameur has been number three there since then , until Bini's successor Philippe Bergeroo nominated the goalkeeper for the Cyprus Cup in March 2014 without using her. It then took a year and a half before she was taken into account again in the A-Elf squad and even guarded the goal for the entire season in a friendly game defeat (1: 2) against the Netherlands .
For the 2016 Olympic football tournament , the coach nominated her as one of four reservists who could move up to the French squad if necessary. One year later, in 2017, Bergeroo's successor Olivier Echouafni appointed her to his European championship squad .
