The Laagschunter is a five kilometer long stream in the Helmstedt district in Lower Saxony , which rises west of Warberg im Elm and flows into the Schunter from the right at Frellstedt . The Elbe-Weser watershed runs south of its tributaries .
geography
course
The Laagschunter rises from several sources on the eastern edge of the Elm and flows through the Bornteich. It follows the Elm slope to the east and takes on the Balkenberggraben coming from the Elm from the right. The Güldenspringgraben from the Güldenspring im Elm flows north of Warberg, and the Laagschunter bends north in front of the vineyard at the inlet of the Weinberggraben west of Wolsdorf . She passes the Laagmühle and takes the Wolsdorfer Graben at the Roten Berg before she meets her namesake, the Schunter, northeast of Frellstedt.
Watershed
The Laagschunter belongs to the catchment area of the Weser , while the Missaue , which flows southeast of Warberg, strives towards the Saale via Schöninger Aue, Große Graben and Bode and thus belongs to the catchment area of the Elbe . The watershed between the Elbe and Weser runs roughly across the ridge of the Elm between Warberg and Groß Dahlum.
Water quality
The Laagschunter is listed under the water body number 15060 for water monitoring by the responsible state company. In the water quality report of 2002, the upper reaches of quality class I, the further course of class II. The deeply deepened moat structure and the farming close to the bank were mentioned there. In the 2017 assessment, the Laagschunter was identified as a “significantly modified river” with poor ecological potential.
