Before the 2015 territorial reform, Lacawa had an area of 11.38 km². Now it is 18.00 km². The Suco is located in the western center of the Luro administrative office. In the north it borders on the Suco Wairoque , in the east on Cotamutu , in the southeast it meets Baricafa and in the west lies the Suco Afabubu . The Adafuro River crosses the Suco from south to north before turning east and finally flowing into the Roumoco .

In the east the settlement Bua Nomor is cut by the suco border , in the south the place Sare Lari ( Sarelari ) and on the western border the place Uto . There is a medical post and a primary school in Bua Nomor. Sate Lari and Uto also have a primary school.

In the southeast of Sucos lies the Legumau ( Legumaw , Apara ). At 1228  m (other sources at 1221  m or 1297  m ), it is the highest mountain in Lautém.

The borders of sucos were re-cut between 1999 and 2004. At that time the west of Bua Nomors came from Cotamutu to Lacawa, Sare Lari was defeated by Afabubu to Lacawa and the southern part of Wairoque also came to Lacawa. In return, Cotamutu pushed himself to the Adafuro River at the expense of Lacawa.
