Lagan is a place ( Tatort ) in the Swedish province of Kronobergs län and the historic province of Småland . The place in the municipality of Ljungby is located about ten kilometers north of Ljungby on the river of the same name , not far from European route 4 .

history

Lagan originally consisted of the settlements Åby, Prästtorp and Alt-Åby, which had settled around a textile factory. The place continued to develop after the railway and the power station on the Lagan River were added. The church of Lagan is called "Berga Kyrka". It is located a little north of Åby and is the central church of the Berga parish. In 1279, Bishop Henrik (Bishop of Linköping) received the privilege of building a town in Berga from King Magnus Ladulås . This document is the oldest surviving "Stadsprivilegbrev" in Sweden. The town charter was never revoked, but the town was never built, as Bishop Henrik died a few years after the town charter was granted.

Lagan has some industrial areas, the largest of which is in the western part of the town, directly on the E4. Lagan has approximately 1970 jobs, mostly in manufacturing and manufacturing.
