Lahav ( Hebrew להב) is a kibbutz in the Negev and in the southern district of Israel . The kibbutz is located at the foot of Tel Halif (Arabic Tell el-Ḫuwēlfe ) around 20 km north of Be'er Scheva . In 2018, the kibbutz had 529 inhabitants and a size of 33,000 dunams , and it falls under the jurisdiction of the B'nei Shimon regional administration .
The kibbutz was first founded in 1952 under the name Ziklag ( Hebrew צקלג) founded after the biblical city of Ziklag , which was probably on Tel Halif. After a few years the kibbutz was renamed Lahav in honor of the Nachal group who founded the kibbutz.
