Location of Laichstätt in Bavaria

Laichstätt is a district of the district town of Cham in the district of Cham in the administrative district of Upper Palatinate in Eastern Bavaria . The place lies between the nature reserves Letten-Angerweiher and Rötelseeweiher in the valley of the river Regen .

Laichstätt is located between Cham and Pösing , in the middle of the nature reserve, better known as the Regentalaue, which is constantly being expanded. Up until a few decades ago, Laichstätt was covered by countless ponds. The name comes from the fact that the fish laid their spawn in the adjacent ponds .

Laichstätt currently has 60 houses and 220 residents. Laichstätt can still be expanded by 30 houses; more houses cannot be built because of the surrounding nature reserve.

The developed Rötelsee pond with numerous rare bird and other animal species is a destination for nature and bird lovers. The Regen river, which is formed by the Black and White Rain near Bad Kötzting , has moorings for canoe and kayak drivers.

The place is on the “Pandurensteig” hiking trail and the “Regental Radweg”.
