The state survey office of North Rhine-Westphalia was a state survey office based in Bonn - Bad Godesberg . It was founded in 1949. His tasks included maintaining the trigonometric fixed point field and the topographical land survey .

history

The immediate predecessors of the Land Surveying Office were the main surveying departments IX in Münster and X in Cologne , which were established in 1938 . The main surveying department IX included the areas of the state of Lippe , the province of Westphalia and the administrative district of Osnabrück , while the main surveying department X included the Rhine province . The office in Cologne was destroyed in the war, evacuated to Drieberhausen in 1944 and relocated to Bad Godesberg in 1945.

The main surveying departments , which had also taken over the tasks of the former Reichsamt für Landesaufnahme insofar as they extended to the state of North Rhine-Westphalia , were dissolved in 1949 and the state survey office of North Rhine-Westphalia was formed as the successor authority for the North Rhine-Westphalian area. The main office with the administration department and three technical departments was in Bad Godesberg, Münster remained a branch office with three technical departments for the Westphalian part of the country. In 1957, the state government decided to house the authority (from 1962 state higher authority ) in one place. Construction of the new office building began in 1959, and implementation of the decision lasted until 1987.

As part of an administrative reform in North Rhine-Westphalia, it was organizationally integrated into the Cologne District Government on January 1, 2008 as Department 7 - Geobasis NRW . The location was retained.
