Landtag constituency Heilbronn-Stadt

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Heilbronn-Stadt constituency (constituency 6) was a state electoral district in Baden-Württemberg . It always included the independent city of Heilbronn and existed under this name and with this number from the state elections in 1956 to the state elections in 1972 . Also in the election for the constituent state assembly in 1952 , which was constituted as the first state parliament in 1953, there was only one constituency of Heilbronn in the state of Württemberg-Baden with the name Heilbronn-Stadt. Since the state elections in 1976 there has been an electoral district of Heilbronn with the number 18, which since the state elections in 2006 has included other communities in addition to Heilbronn.

From 1946 to 1952 there was an electoral district of Heilbronn in Württemberg-Baden , which included the city of Heilbronn and the entire district of Heilbronn and sent several MPs.

Elections and MPs 1952 to 1972

In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg, each voter has only one vote, which is used to determine both the direct candidate and the total number of seats of a party in the state parliament . There are no state or district lists; instead, second mandates are assigned to constituency applicants who are inferior in the first mandate in order to establish the balance . The regulation, which was valid until the 2006 election, provided for these mandates to be allocated according to the absolute number of votes at the level of the administrative districts, which is why the Heilbronn-Stadt constituency, which is small in terms of population, could only send more than one representative to the state parliament once. In the elections for the national constitutional assembly in 1952, there were no second mandates, but state supplementary lists.

The constituency of Heilbronn-Stadt was represented by the following members in the state parliament from 1952 to 1976:

Political party Type of mandate Elected
SPD Fritz Ulrich 1952
SPD First mandate Fritz Ulrich 1956, 1960, 1964
Günter Erlewein 1968, 1972
FDP / DVP Second mandate Paul Meyle 1964
