history

The boundaries of the state electoral districts were fundamentally redesigned after the regional reform in Baden-Württemberg from 1968 to 1975 and the district reform of 1973 for the state election in 1976. The new constituency No. 36, Mannheim II, essentially corresponded to the earlier constituency No. 32, Mannheim-Stadt 2, which had existed from the state election in 1956 to the state election in 1972 .

For the 1992 state elections , the Mannheim district was divided into two instead of three constituencies. The previous selection circuit 36, Mannheim II, and part of the previous constituency 35, Mannheim I were thereby substantially to the new selection circuit 35, Mannheim I , summarized.

In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg, each voter has one vote, with which both the direct candidate and the total number of seats of a party in the state parliament are determined. There are no state or district lists; instead, in order to establish the equalization of proportions, inferior constituency applicants are assigned second mandates .

The Mannheim II constituency was represented from 1976 to 1992 by the following Member of Parliament:
