Lara Della Mea comes from Camporosso (Tarvisio) in Friuli and starts for the Esercito Italiano sports club . Already in her early youth, she won several important Italian titles in children's races.
At the age of 16 she competed in her first FIS races on the Diavolezza . In January 2016 she made her debut in the European Cup and in December of the same year achieved her first top 10 result in the parallel slalom on Kronplatz . Two months later, she took part in the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival in Erzurum and won the bronze medal in slalom. In the giant slalom, she finished seventh. She finished her first Junior World Championship in Åre with tenth place in the giant slalom. The following European Cup season was mixed and also at the Junior World Championship in Davos she could not convince with the ranks 24 in Super-G and Giant Slalom and 28 in the combination .
On October 27, 2018, she made her World Cup debut in the giant slalom in Sölden . After she managed a significant increase in the European Cup and she was on the podium for the first time with third place in Trysil , she won the first points in her fifth World Cup race, the slalom at Semmering, with 16th place. At the World Championships in Åre she won the bronze medal with the Italian team. In the European Cup, she won the slalom ranking with three second places.
