The Larkin Stadium , also known as Tan Sri Hassan Yunus Stadium is a football stadium in the suburb Larkin the Malaysian port city of Johor Bahru , State of Johor . It is mostly used for soccer games.
history
The facility offers space for 30,000 people and was opened in 1964. It bears the name of the former Menteri Besar, a kind of prime minister of Johor, Hassan Yunos (1907–1968). In 1991, 1996 and 2013 the site was renovated. The tiers are equipped with red and blue (club colors) plastic seats. As you can see from the oval shape of the stadium, it used to be an athletics facility . The space between the playing field and the stands, especially behind the goals, is blue.
The football club Johor Darul Ta'zim FC played their home games in this stadium from the start. In 2020 they moved to the new Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, about 25 km away, with 40,000 seats.
