Johor Darul Ta'zim FC is a football club from Pasir Gudang , Malaysia . The club plays in the highest league in the country, the Malaysian Super League .
history
In 1972 the club was founded by the sports bureau of the Johor State Economic Development Corporation ( Perbadanan Kemajuan Ekonomi Negeri Johor ). He initially called himself Perbadanan Kemajuan Ekonomi Negeri Johor FC , or PKENJ FC for short. Since its inception, the club has played regularly in the local PBJB league and has been champions there several times . In 1988 the team qualified for the first time for the national cup and won it in 1994 and 1995. In 1996 they reached the final. From 1997 Johor played in the 2nd division; 2001 one rose to the Super League and after the end of the season again. It was not until 2005/06 that they were promoted to the first division again. After the Johor Football Association acquired 100 percent ownership of the club, the club was renamed Johor Darul Ta'zim Football Club .
In 2014 the first national championship could be won, which could be defended the following year. In 2015 the first continental exclamation mark could be set with the entry into the final of the AFC Cup . There they defeated the Tajik club FC Istiklol 1-0 and were able to win their first international title.

Stadion
The club plays its home games at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri , which opened in February 2020. The stadium has a capacity of 40,000 people. The club itself is the owner and operator of the stadium.
