Larry Warford III (* 18th June 1991 in San Diego , California ) is an American American football poker players in the National Football League (NFL). He played for the New Orleans Saints as a guard . He was previously under contract with the Detroit Lions . He has been a free agent since May 8, 2020 .

college

Warford attended the University of Kentucky and played for their team, the Wildcats, on the position of right guard college football . Between 2009 and 2012 he played a total of 47 games.

NFL

Detroit Lions

In the 2013 NFL Draft he was selected by the Detroit Lions in the third round as the 65th player and was able to establish himself as a professional immediately. In his rookie season review, he was in all 16 games as right starting - Guard used, whereby he not a single sack allowed. For his consistently good performance, he was elected to the PFWA All-Rookie Team by the Pro Football Writers Association and was named Offensive Rookie of the Year by the analysis website Pro Football Focus . He was also able to maintain his high level in the following seasons and continued to run as a starter in all games.

New Orleans Saints

In March 2017 he was signed by the New Orleans Saints to replace the veteran Jahri Evans , whose contract was no longer renewed. He signed a four-year contract for 34 million US dollars , with 17 million guaranteed. In the first season for his new team, Warford was first elected to the Pro Bowl . Until his release in May 2020, Warford started all the games he played for the Saints.
