Lars Brian Nielsen

Lars Brian Nielsen (born September 14, 1970 ) is a former Danish track cyclist and sports director.

Lars Brian Nielsen was one of the dominant Danish track cyclists in the short-term disciplines in the 1990s. He has won national titles 14 times in the sprint , keirin and 1000-meter time trial . In 2002 he ended his active cycling career. After a seven-year break, the now 39-year-old managed to finish second again in a Danish sprint championship in 2009.

In 1998 Nielsen tested positive for doping with nandrolone and was banned for two years. In 2002 he was excluded from the national squad before the 2002 UCI Track World Championships because he had tested positive for caffeine .

Lars Brian Nielsen trained as a trainer. At the end of 2010 he finally resigned from active cycling. Then he was sports director for the Concordia Forsikring-Himmerland team for a year and continues to work as a trainer; among others he trains the multiple Danish champion Sebastian Lander .
