Lars Göhmann

Lars Göhmann (born April 14, 1968 in Langenfeld ) is a German theater and art scholar.

Life

After graduating from high school in Lingen (Ems) , Lars Göhmann studied in Cologne at the Institute for Theater, Film and Television Studies . In addition to his studies in theater studies , German literature and art history , he trained as an acting teacher. Further studies followed in cultural management and law . In 2002 he received his doctorate from the Berlin University of the Arts (UDK).

Shortly after graduating from high school, Göhmann was a member of the ensemble of the Emsland open-air theater in Meppen . He was engaged as an actor during his studies (including Milo in Revenche ; Thomas Gray in Wiedersehen im Herbst ); he also played at the studio stage in Cologne . He worked in the dramaturgy and as an assistant director at the Schauspiel Köln . The first own productions took place at the Bochum children's and youth theater .

In 1998 he went to the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences to set up the theater education course with Bernd Ruping , Jörg Meyer and Andreas Poppe . Further teaching positions at the University of Cologne and the University of Munich followed.

In 2001 Göhmann switched to the Bund Deutscher Amateurtheater eV and worked for ten years as their educational advisor. During this time he developed a training program for the areas of acting , directing , equipment and technology . In addition, he designed numerous cultural and theater projects for the association and participated in the association's cultural and educational policy. In 2006 he founded the proskenion Foundation to enable the active promotion of young and talented young theater makers . As part of the foundation's work, Göhmann developed a nationwide program to support young talent for drama and musicals , the youth academy for the performing arts , of which he is the artistic director.

Another focus of the foundation's activities, in collaboration with the cellist Olaf Nießing, is the development and establishment of a state high school for music and theater .
