Lars Kindgen (born November 25, 1971 in Bedburdyck ) is a former German soccer player . Since 2010 he has been the managing director of the Association of Contract Footballers .
Career
Lars Kindgen comes from Bedburdyck (now part of the city of Jüchen ) and began playing club football in 1977 at the local SV Bedburdyck-Gierath. Via the clubs Borussia Mönchengladbach (from 1980 to C-youth; teammates including Karlheinz Pflipsen , Jörg Albertz and Thomas Hoersen ), 1.FC Mönchengladbach and Bayer 05 Uerdingen (B and A youth; teammates including Stephan Paßlack , Michael Klauß and Marcel Witeczek ; winning the B youth championship) Kindgen came to Wuppertaler SV in the second year of the A youth , where he was accepted into the men's team (Oberliga Nordrhein) in 1990. There he was able to quickly fight for a regular place and rose to the 2nd Bundesliga with the WSV in 1992 , after winning all games in the promotion round (two games each against Preußen Münster and FSV Salmrohr ). At that time, the club had ambitions to move up to the Bundesliga in the medium term, but this did not succeed. After two seasons in the 2nd division, they went back to the third division, more precisely in the newly founded Regionalliga Nord . The then offensive player Kindgen made 48 second division appearances (one goal) for the WSV in the two years, but completed less than half of them over the full season.
After the descent of the Wuppertal, he joined Alemannia Aachen , a league competitor of the WSV in the following season. Aachen reached 6th place in the table and Kindgen scored 7 goals in 22 games. After the season he went to VfB Lübeck and thus back to the 2nd division. At Lübeck he met again with coach Michael Lorkowski , under whom he had already trained in Wuppertal from April 1993. The climber from the Regionalliga Nord achieved relegation, which Kindgen, who was usually set as a regular player, had his share. In the following season 1996/97 did not succeed in relegation. Kindgen switched to Rot-Weiss Essen , who had also relegated. In the following season, RWE soon found itself again in the lower area of the table and at the end of the season rose from the Regionalliga West / Südwest to the fourth-class Oberliga Nordrhein. The Bonner SC , descent along with the RWE was child gene new employer for the season 1998/99. In contrast to the Essenes, who reached the rise again, the BSC was only just able to prevent relegation. After only one season, Kindgen changed clubs and went north to Holstein Kiel . In the regional league he missed only one game during the season and scored six goals, but the 8th place at the end of the season meant relegation, as the previous four regional leagues were merged into two after the season. The now 28-year-old went back to the 2nd Bundesliga and joined VfL Osnabrück, here again under coach Lorkowski, but was just as unable to assert himself there as at SV Wilhelmshaven , to which he had already moved in winter. There was another season at Borussia Lübeck (Verbandsliga Schleswig-Holstein) before he ended his career. Kindgen played most of the time as a midfielder, was a striker at the beginning of his career and in his youth, and later also a man hit.
After retiring as a football player, Kindgen initially worked in Lübeck, became branch manager at Borussia Lübeck and then started his own sports marketing agency. In this role, he already worked with the Association of Contract Footballers (VDV). From 2005 he worked at the VDV as a team supervisor and anti-doping officer. He also worked as a trainer at the Lübeck 1876 clubs and later at TSV Kücknitz (until 2007). In 2010 he took over the management of the VDV together with Ulf Baranowsky. He is now back in his home country.
