Stephan Paßlack (born August 24, 1970 in Moers ) is a former German soccer player .
Career
The strong offensive defender came from TV Asberg. Via VfB Homberg , he switched to his first Bundesliga club, Bayer Uerdingen , for which he played a total of 64 Bundesliga games between 1989 and 1993 and scored four goals. In the 1993/94 season he played on loan for 1. FC Köln and scored one goal in 18 games. After a four-month detour to Eintracht Frankfurt without a competitive game, he continued his career at Bayer Uerdingen from the fall of 1994 and had another 54 games with twelve goals by 1996.
From 1996 to 1999 he played for Borussia Mönchengladbach . He came to 67 games and seven goals. Then he played for two years at TSV 1860 Munich . He scored one goal in 34 games. His last Bundesliga position was then 1. FC Nürnberg . From 2001 to 2003 he played 32 games, but did not score any more goals. He was relegated with the club in 2003, but stayed with the club and made seven appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2003/04 season. In the 2004/05 season he played for KFC Uerdingen in the Regionalliga Nord, and in the 2005/06 season because of a forced relegation in the Oberliga Nordrhein .
He was relegated from the 1st Bundesliga five times in his career: in 1991, 1993 and 1996 with Bayer Uerdingen, in 1999 with Borussia Mönchengladbach and in 2003 with 1. FC Nürnberg. Only Jürgen Rynio and Andreas Keim were just as unlucky.
Passlack, who had already been invited by national coach Berti Vogts in September 1992 to a training course for the national team at the Wedau sports school, played four international matches. His two appearances against Armenia and Northern Ireland in 1996 were followed by two more games against Malta (one goal) and Romania in 1998 .
Passlack plays in the traditional team of Borussia Mönchengladbach, the "Weisweiler-Elf".
