Lars Ivar Lerin (born April 2, 1954 in Munkfors , Värmland , Sweden ) is a Swedish painter , non-fiction author and television presenter .

biography

Lerin grew up in Sunnemo , Hagfors parish , and that's where he started painting. His parents are Gerd and Jonny Lerin, he has a sister, Agnes and a brother, Simon Torsell, who is also an artist. The father was a well-known bandy player. In 1974 and 1975 Lerin attended the School of Fine Arts in Gerlesborg (Gerlesborgsskolan), from 1980 to 1984 he studied at the Valand School of Art .

Lerin lived for a time in a former schoolhouse on the outskirts of Munkfors, on the northern Norwegian Lofoten and in the east of the municipality of Sunne . He has been living in Hammarö near Karlstad for several years .

Act

Lerin is considered one of the most prominent Scandinavian watercolors . His work also includes oil paintings , graphic art , photographs and collages , and you can often see motifs from his travels. Lerin has exhibited in several European countries as well as the USA . The 2011 in Karlstad built museum sandy bottom is dedicated almost exclusively to his works, a space is provided for exhibitions by other artists.

His first book, Utpost , was published in 1983 . More than 50 other books followed, most of which are personal accounts of trips he has made .

Since the beginning of 2016, Lerin has been the presenter of the award-winning talk show Vänligen Lars Lerin , each with a prominent conversation partner. In the pilot episode on January 13, 2016, this was ABBA singer Anni-Frid Lyngstad , followed by Leif GW Persson and Mikael Persbrandt , among others .

Lerin has been married to the Brazilian dancer Manoel Marques since 2009. The origin of this relationship was filmed by the director Sara Broos under the title För dig naken . For this she received the main prize in the documentary category at the Gothenburg film festival in 2012 .
