Lars Müller (born September 17, 1977 in Weißwasser ) is a German ice hockey player who has been playing for the Blue Lions Leipzig in the regional league since 2008 .

Career

The son of a teacher couple comes from the junior department of ES Weißwasser , where he went through various junior teams. In the 1995/96 season the striker made his debut in the German Ice Hockey League . He was able to score one goal in five games. He then signed with ERC Westfalen Dortmund in 1990 . The contract did not materialize, however, as the Dortmund team was excluded from gaming due to financial problems. Therefore, at the age of 19, he moved to the Iserlohner EC , with whom he played in the second highest division. In the following four years, Müller was able to record 31 points scorer in 213 games. Even after the DEL promotion, he stayed in the squad and continued not as a scorer, but as a worker in the team, who mainly dominated the physical game. In 2002 the striker signed a contract with Berlin Capitals , who were planning to move to the 2nd Bundesliga after the DEL relegation. But after the opening of insolvency proceedings and the withdrawal from the league, Müller was without a contract and initially could not find a new club. Finally he joined the EC Timmendorfer Strand , which played in the regional league. In 47 games for Timmendorf, Müller scored 147 points.

The next year he signed with ERV Schweinfurt from the league , where he stayed two seasons. For the 2005/06 season the striker returned to his home club and played with the Lausitzer Füchsen in the 2nd Bundesliga. After 13th place in the main round, his team was able to secure relegation in the play-downs. In 2006, Müller moved to league rivals Moskitos Essen . The play-offs were always reached in two seasons, but it was not enough for promotion to the DEL. When the GmbH responsible for game operations went bankrupt in April 2008, the striker had to look for a new club. He found this with the Blue Lions Leipzig from the top division. With his team he reached the 2nd place after the main round. However, the Leipzig team decided not to play the 2009 play-offs because bankruptcy proceedings were opened after financial difficulties. This was the fourth time in Müller's career that his team went bankrupt.
