Lars Steinstrasse

Lars Steinsträßer (born April 30, 1970 in Verden an der Aller ) is a German doctor and university lecturer. From 2013 to 2015 he was Heisenberg Professor for Plastic Surgery at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg .

Life

Steinsträßer graduated from elementary school in Oststeinbek and then attended grammar school in Glinde , where he obtained the general university entrance qualification in 1989. From 1989 to 1991 he did his basic military service as a medic in the Bundeswehr .

He began his medical studies in 1991 at the University Hospital Eppendorf in Hamburg and graduated with the state examination in 1997. He was licensed to practice medicine in 1999. From 1999 to 2001 he was a Research Fellow in basic research at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor on a General Motors research grant . From 2001 to 2005 he continued his training as a plastic surgeon at the University Clinic for Plastic Surgery, Hand Surgery and Serious Burn Injuries at the Bergmannsheil University Clinic (BGUB) of the Ruhr University Bochum (RUB). In 2005 he was appointed junior professor for molecular wound healing and gene therapy and a specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery . In 2006 he obtained his habilitation in plastic surgery at the RUB. In 2007 he became senior physician for plastic surgery and severe burn injuries at the hand surgery center and operational reference center for limb tumors of the BGUB / RUB. In 2008 he was awarded the additional title of hand surgery . In 2009 he received the call to the Heisenberg Chair of the German Research Foundation for Molecular Oncology and wound healing at the RUB. In 2010 he became head of the plastic surgery section at the BGUB / RUB. From 2013 to 2015 he was a university professor at the European Medical School at the University of Oldenburg and chief physician for plastic surgery at the Evangelical Hospital in Oldenburg. He has been a resident doctor in Oldenburg since 2015.
