Las Lomas is a city in the Piura Province in the Piura region of northwest Peru . In the 2017 census, the population was 9,646. 10 years earlier this was 8,307. The city is the administrative seat of the district of the same name . Irrigated agriculture is practiced in the vicinity of the city.

Geographical location

Las Lomas is located on the edge of the arid coastal desert of northwestern Peru at an altitude of 242  m . The small town is just 75 km northeast of the city center of the metropolis Piura . The Río Chipillico , a left tributary of the Río Chira , flows through the city. 5 kilometers east of the city is the San Lorenzo dam on the river . The National Road 1N leads from Piura to Tambogrande and Las Lomas over to the north in Ecuador located Macará .
