course

The Laugna has its source in the Adelsried Basin, south of the Federal Motorway 8 and flows in a predominantly northward direction through the Augsburg Western Woods Nature Park . After running from Adelsried through the areas of the municipalities (or it forms their borders) Bonstetten , Welden , Emersacker and Laugna , the Laugna joins the Zusam at Wertingen , which flows 19 km further downstream in Donauwörth into the Danube .

history

The original Celtic name "Longna" was adopted by the Roman occupiers (15 BC). The current name arose from this over time.

Interesting

The German native writer Ludwig Ganghofer spent part of his childhood in Welden and mentions Laugna several times in his works, e.g. B. in “The Life of an Optimist”.
