Laura Linnenbaum

Laura Linnenbaum (* 1986 ) is a German theater director .

Life

Linnenbaum studied directing at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts , with Christof Loy , Benedikt von Peter , Ulrich Becker and Julian Klein , among others . During her studies she worked for the German National Theater Weimar , the Thalia Theater Hamburg and the Heidelberg Castle Festival .

Linnenbaum has been directing freelance work since the 2011 season. At the same time, she was a scholarship holder and assistant director of the Schauspiel Frankfurt . There she staged plays such as “ Schlafes Bruder ” (Körber Studio Director) or “Eine Teufeliade”, with which she was invited to the Hessian Theater Days in 2013. Linnenbaum premiered the pieces “MS Pocahontas” by Gerhild Steinbuch and “ Vom Fischer und seine Frau ” by Simon Paul Schneider in Frankfurt . In 2014 she made a guest appearance at the Bayerische Theatertage with “Norway Today”, which was created at the Bavarian Theater Schloss Maßbach .

She realized further work and project developments at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden , Theater Bonn , Staatstheater Kassel , Thomas Bernhard Institute Salzburg, Saarland State Theater Saarbrücken , Theater Osnabrück , DT Göttingen and other venues and theaters.

In the 2016/17 season she curated and directed the Theatertreffen “Undiscovered Neighbors”, which took place in Chemnitz on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the discovery of the so-called National Socialist Underground (NSU) in Chemnitz. As part of the Theatertreffen, she also premiered Gerhild Steinbuch's “Beate Uwe Uwe Selfie Klick”, which was invited to the Heidelberg Stückemarkt in 2017 .

With the Dresden premiere of Ibrahim Amir's “Homohalal”, she made repeated guest appearances in 2018 at the Heidelberger Stückemarkt and also at the Mülheimer Theatertage .

  • For her production “Silent Noise - Project about Sylvia Plath ” Linnenbaum was nominated in the specialist magazine Theater Heute in the “Young Artist” category.
  • “Beate Uwe Uwe Selfie Klick” received the prize of the youth jury at the children's and youth theater festival WILDWECHSEL of the TJG Dresden in 2017 .
  • In 2017 the Theatertreffen "Undiscovered Neighbors" was awarded the Chemnitz Peace Prize.
