From 1895 she was a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. After the death of her sister, she interrupted her career to raise her eleven children. It was only in 1921 that she devoted herself fully to painting again. Laura Muntz Lyall died at the age of 69 and her remains were interred in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto.
