Thanks to his protector dog, Laura's little brother Tommy is no longer afraid of the monsters that appear in his dreams. But one day the dream monsters (tentacles, bumps, fressos, stalk eyes and chief monsters) kidnap the protector-me dog. Laura and Tommy go on a journey to dreamland to free the dog. They learn to overcome their fears with the help of the dream monster light catcher, because these make the dream monsters more powerful. Finally they manage to free the protect me dog.

Reviews

TV Spielfilm sees the film as a “colorful fairy tale about conquering fears”, a “cute, imaginative fairy tale in anime style ”. The monsters are "very funny and designed to make you laugh", but fear could "have a somewhat disturbing effect on smaller children".
