Lauren Schmidt Hissrich

Lauren Schmidt Hissrich ( born Lauren Schmidt) is an American television producer and screenwriter . She is the creator , executive producer and director of the television series The Witcher .

life and career

She grew up in Westerville , Ohio and graduated from Wittenberg University in Springfield in 2000 with a BA in English Literature and Creative Writing.

She wrote the scripts for the television series The West Wing and Justice . She also wrote the scripts and produced series such as Parenthood , Do No Harm , Private Practice , Marvel's Daredevil , Marvel's The Defenders and The Umbrella Academy . She directs the production of The Witcher, a Netflix series based on the Geralt saga by Andrzej Sapkowski .

She lives in Los Angeles with her husband Michael Hissrich, who is also a television producer, and their two sons Harry and Ben.
