The Evangelical Lutheran , listed Laurentius Church is located in Lausnitz , a district of Unterwellenborn in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district of Thuringia . The parish Lausnitz belongs to the parish Kamsdorf-Könitz in Kirchenkreis Rudolstadt-Saalfeld the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The rectangular hall church was built since 1724 using the remains of the wall from the pre-Reformation building and was consecrated on November 6, 1725. The nave is covered with a slate mansard roof with dormer windows . A roof turret rises in the western area . It consists of an eight-sided attachment, which has a bulbous hood on which sits a lantern , which is crowned by a tower ball .

The interior has two-storey galleries and is covered with a wooden barrel vault. To the east is the pulpit altar from 1725, it is the second gallery for the organ builder built Friedrich Wilhelm Dornheim 1875 organ . The pulpit is decorated with fittings . Its humpback blocks are remnants of the church furnishings from the previous building. On the side of the basket and on the organ gallery are statues of Maria with the child , Antonius and Laurentius, carved by a pupil of Tilman Riemenschneider . They were originally part of a former altarpiece , created around 1510, and come from Hans Gottwalt von Lohr's workshop in Saalfeld. The church was last renovated in 1989.
