Lausnitz is a district of Unterwellenborn in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district ( Thuringia ) with around 150 inhabitants.

Lausnitz is located in the western Orlasenke between Saalfeld in the west and Pößneck in the east at an altitude of about 300 meters above sea ​​level . The local area of ​​Lausnitz has an area of ​​1.91 km². To the north of the village lies the Thuringian wood country with elevations of up to 400 meters.

history

The village church was consecrated on November 6, 1725.

The independent community belonged to the administrative community Unterwellenborn , which had its administrative seat in Unterwellenborn. On February 1, 2006, this administrative community was dissolved and the places were incorporated into Unterwellenborn.

The last parish council consisted of six members. The last honorary mayor Volker Hirt (Pro Lausnitz) was elected on June 27, 2004.
