Bucha is a district of Unterwellenborn in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia .

geography

Bucha is located south of Könitz on the state roads L1105 (from Unterwellenborn in the direction of Ziegenrück) and L2384 (from Könitz in the direction of the Hohenwarte reservoir), both with a connection to the federal road 281 east of Unterwellenborn. The village is located on the northern roof of the south- east Thuringian slate mountains in the transition zone to the Orlatal and the open-cast mine around Könitz. The place is also located near the Hohenwarte reservoir in a wooded, scenic area. The location is 460 meters above sea level. Approx. 330 people live in the village.

history

Bucha was mentioned in chronicle documents of the community in 1125. Wolfgang Kahl records 1350. Until 1918 the place belonged to the people mountain exclave in the supremacy of the county or the principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt .

Bucha has always been considered a summer retreat . The children went to school in Koenitz until 1667. In 1842 the village had its own forestry office . On July 1, 1950, Bucha was incorporated into Goßwitz . In 1997 the place was beautified as part of a village renewal program . In 2006 the new unified community Unterwellenborn was founded. The old community of Unterwellenborn with its former districts of Oberwellenborn, Birkigt, Langenschade and Dorfkulm as well as the independent communities of Könitz, Lausnitz and Goßwitz with the district of Bucha merged. From this point on, Bucha is, in addition to the above Orten an equal district of Unterwellenborn, but still has a joint district mayor and council with Goßwitz. This also applies to the districts of Langenschade and Dorfkulm. Saalthal , also widely known as the Saalthal Age, also belongs to the Bucha district . In 2017, Kamsdorf was incorporated into Unterwellenborn.
